1.  The Meaning of VL E460 shipbuilding plates

VL E460 steel plate is a ship and marine engineering structural steel plate, "VL" stands for "DNV-GL", which is a standard jointly certified by DNV (Norway) and GL (Germany). "E" indicates that the grade of steel plate is Ë grade, “460” means that the steel plate yield stength 460MPa.

 

2. Delivery Conditions

* TM (thermo-mechanical controlled rolling),

   or QT (quenching + tempering),

  or TM + T (thermo-mechanical controlled rolling + tempering)

* Additional technical requiremnets (optional):

   Z25 and Z35,

  flaw detection requirements(UT test),

 special alloying elements, etc.

Note:

3.1. Al, yttrium, vanadium and titanium which refine grain elements can be added separately or in any combination. When added alone, the content should not be lower than the lower limit of the value specified in the table. When combined, Nb + V + Ti ≤ 0.26%.

3.2. the ratio of Alt to Ñ should be a minimum of 2:1. When other refined grain elements are used, the minimum aluminum content and the aluminum bismuth ratio are not applicable.

3.3. Cr ≤ 0.50%, Ni ≤ 2.00% (not greater than the content approved by the classification society), Cu ≤ 0.55%, Mo ≤ 0.50%, Mo + Cr ≤ 0.65%.

As shown in Figure A, the special provisions for chemical composition in the table shall comply with the requirements of the classification society's specifications and certification.
